The Mill Creek trail is a favorite hike of ours. Unlike other trails in the park that have grand vistas of towering peaks the Mill Creek hike offers quiet beauty along the trail. The hike begins at the parking lot at Hollowell Park . The trail passes along a marshy area before meeting up with Mill Creek. From there the trail contours along the slopes of Steep Mountain and into an area of Aspen (now burned over). There is a cutoff that would lead to Bierstadt Lake or continuing on the trail over a Moraine and down to the Cub Lake trail loop (consult park map). These photos were made before the recent fires.
